Tumble Tots (Ages 4-5)

This is a basic development skills class for 4 & 5 year olds. 55 minute classes once a week focusing on building a quality foundation in each event which will prepare your child for the YMCA progressive gymnastics program. Emphasis is placed on listening, following directions and cooperation in group situations.

​​Beginning Tumbling

This is a class focuses on basic skills which include cartwheels, back bends and back walkovers to ensure the overall goal of successfully completing a back handspring with a spot.

This class is floor and tumble track only.

Intermediate Tumbling

Skills taught at this level include front walkovers, back walkovers, front handsprings and back handsprings.

Advanced Tumbling

This class focuses on technique of advance skills such as backsprings, back/front tucks, and layouts; continued emphasis on technique and on multiple aerial maneuvers.

Tiny Tots (Ages 2-3)

This is an introduction to gymnastics class for your tiny tots. Parents accompany their children in this 30 minute class once a week which explores a variety of movement activities, various equipment and creative play while interacting with other children. Emphasis is placed on motor development, socialization and coordination.

Private Lessons 

Private lessons offer your child one-on-one instruction and are a great way to gain skills at a faster pace! Private lessons are offered for gymnastics, tumbling and cheerleading. Private lessons must be scheduled through the front desk and paid for 3 at a time. A 24-hour cancellation notice is required to avoid charge on scheduled appointments missed.
Cost:   1/2 hour lessons are $15.00 each and 1 hour lessons are $30 each





Class offered to beginning gymnasts with or without prior experience, focusing on developmental skills to build the foundation on which all other progressive skills are built. Skills taught at this level: springboard jumps to prepare for vault, front support and cast on bars, walks and straight jumps on beam, cartwheel and handstand on floor.

Class offered to gymnasts who have completed Level 1 and are instructor recommended which focuses on continuing to build strong gymnastics background and improve on previously taught skills. Skills taught at this level: squat-on vault, pullover and back hip circle on bars, split jump on beam, round off and back-bend kick over on floor.

Class offered to advanced gymnasts who wish to build their skills to prepare for gymnastics competition that will possibly occur in the future years. Course focuses on skills equivalent to those in Level II competition. Skills taught at this level: tree-fall vault, stride circle on bars, cartwheel to handstand on beam, back bend kick over on floor. This class may also be taken by advanced gymnasts who do not wish to compete but who wish to practice on all four apparatus.

This class is offered to advanced gymnasts who wish to compete in Heart of Missouri Gymnastics Competitions. Gymnasts must have completed Level 1 and be instructor recommended. The class will focus on skills and routines performed in Level 2 competition. Competitive Level 2/Team gymnasts must be YMCA members in good standing. Please note: The class fee DOES NOT include competition fees, membership fee or uniform/warm-ups.
